Lecture 1: Design Projects are Different

Dr. Brown defines the “white space” and talks about the product development timeline. He discusses his background discusses the difference between design and practice projects.

Lecture 2: Design Projects are Different

Dr. Brown defines the “white space” and talks about the product development timeline. He discusses his background discusses the difference between design and practice projects. Lecture 2 uses the same slides as lecture 1.

Lecture 3: Patents as a Source for Primary Technical Research

Professor Brown goes into the details and specifics of patent research and why it is so important. He offers important tips and skills that are useful beyond this challenge.

Activity: The Peeler Project

During Design Day the participants had the chance to test out several peelers and try the designs on each one. They were able to meet other participants and actively immerse themselves into the design world.
